I started to formulate soaps in 2014. I have tested six formulated soaps for stability, hardness and lather for following three years . I established MIKA Skin Care LLC in 2017 and continue formulating soaps and testing them. My soaps are carefully handcrafted using plant-based oils and whenever possible with fresh or organic ingredients. The soaps are made in small batches of up to 22 bars of soap.
I joined Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetics Guild (HSCG) in 2017 in support of clean energy and reduction of plastic usage. I also became certified soap maker by HSCG.
I buy my oils from Jedwards International Inc. and the other raw materials and supplies from BlembleBerry, Nature’s garden, Wholesale Supplies Plus and Essential Depot.
I started to make candles in 2019. My candles are made with soy wax and scented with Lavender, Coffee, White Tea, and Melon fragrance oils.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and enjoy making soaps and candles.
